MBP Front Case Warp

I noticed a slight warp above my cd slot. The case kind of comes out from the laptop, not too much. Curious if its cause of pressure from my wrist. How normal is this?
 
does apple just make ****** things that never stand up to normal use?

this is the notion I get from reading some of these threads and it's pretty discouraging.

It'd be awesome if Apple made a line of notebooks intended for students and other people who want a more sturdy laptop. The current models are both built terribly in my opinion. I think the emphasis on a good looking laptop is creating some serious durability issues.

If only I could run OS X on a Thinkpad.
 
Depending on how hard your wrists sit on the laptop I could totally see that as and issue. The case is pretty sturdy. My old powerbook had the same thing. I know the guy before me was not rough with it, but a lot of hand pressure and the way the laptop is stored could be viable reasons.

For people who seem to think that Apple hardware is just junk, lets just say that OS X is only half the reason I have ran Macs for so long. The other side of things is the hardware.

If people think that a Thinkpad is better then a MacBook Pro as far as build and hardware. I have had 5 Thinkpads in my group at work need replacements within a few weeks. I have seen no problems with my MBP (Knock on wood) and only the slightest cosmetic defect appeared on my powerbook, but I guess the grass is always greener:rolleyes:
 
I don't really rest my wrists on the laptop. And if I do, I don't apply a lot of pressure. hmm... :confused:

I guess it's luck of the draw. I've owned a ThinkPad for two eyars and never saw fit to have to baby it, and it's never given me a reason to. Aside from a little wear on the keys, it still looks, feels and operates like the day I took it out of the box.

Meanwhile, I'm about to go on a trip this weekend and I have to choose between taking my three-week-old MBP, or the ThinkPad. I have to admit, I'm wary about picking the MBP, even if I do prefer its OS.

The heat is fine, doesn't get hot. And no, I don't carry it around much.

I didn't mean for this thread to be a Mac vs Thinkpad. I was just asking if its common for these Macbooks to warp so soon.
 
i think the warping is due to the design of the hinges for the lid of the laptop. there is a flaw in their design which is causing the warping on the casing, primarily the lid of the laptop. the powerbooks had the same problem and when i talked to an apple engineer, he agreed that this was an issue and assured me that when the MBPs came out, it will be resolved. looks like it wasn't. my MBP also exhibits the same problems.
