So I have been having a terrible issues of kernel panic for a while now. So I call tech support and we narrow down the problem to hard. They think it maybe the new ram I installed. However, every hardware test we did on the mac proved nothing is wrong. So I got my ram at Best Buy and it is the Corsair ram for MBPs and what not. So I go to the place that installed the ram to have it taken out. They take out the new ram, still I get a kernel panics. Takes out the stock ram and use the new ram still same issue. They tech guys says it may be the logic board.

So I go to a local apple store and they agree that it is a hardware problem from what they see. They send it in and I get it back 4 days latter. All I see on the repair sheet that they formatted my hd and installed tiger again. So I go to another Apple store, and show them the problem and they say the last Apple store did a horrible job at writing up the report. So they send it out again. Now I get it back today. I see that they replaced the main board and fixed what ever else was wrong. So I turn it on and see that everything was back to the way I left it. I found that odd since I would have assumed that replacing the main board also meant formatting the hd and reinstalling the os. But I did realizes somethings where acting weired. So I formatted the hd and did a clean install.

3 hours latter everything is working nice till I try to run Toast. The software loads fine but the moment I try to click something I get a another bloody kernel panic. So I turn off the computer and turn it back on. The comp would load for a few seconds and I would see that kernel panic like repair screen or what not and then it would kernel panic again. It has done this 4 times not and won't let me even boot into osx. I cant even do anything with it at all.

So what can I do to have my MBP running again? I am p***** as ***k and I am getting really sick and tired of this. *@#$%^(@!!!

I feel your pain!

I had a very similar experience with my first power mac dual G4. The very first dual processors machine by Apple. That thing was a piece of S**t. I had so many kernel panic right from the start, and went through hell with tech support, who changed my hard drive, followed by the mother board, and finally agreed to replace my machines after around 2 months.

I think you really need to insist on making them take this piece of S**t back. It's no longer worth your time and frustration.

Good luck.

so what version of your mbp is it? week? etc?

I dont remember at the moment. I plan to go to a apple store tomorrow and demand service. I got Apple Care on my MBP and I don't care if I get new C2D MBP or not. I just want a MBP that works and has a glossy screen and that is all I ask for. No kernel panics no issues with service and no nonsense.

One thing I will say is I was surprised on how fast apple does repairs. 4 days shipped there and back.

Also one thing I do not get is, if the logic board and the cpu was replaced and what not why am I still getting this issue?

Is there anyway I can bypass this panic thing like trying to boot into safe mode or onto the cd?
