MBP are known for getting hot. Install this program: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/23137/fan-control.

Apple wanted the MBP to be sleek and quiet. The problem with the quiet part is that the fans don't run as much as they need to; hence, the heat. Fan control will fix that and sync your fans with the temperature of your laptop. My MBP never goes over 55c now.

i have fan control... even running the fans at 3000rpm i still get excessive heat.

im not worried about the fact that it IS hot... i'm worried because the avg. temp has gone up 20* miraculously.
