I have a 17" MBP C2D 2.33ghz and a 17" Powerbook G4 1.67ghz...both computers get hotter on the left side, noticeably hotter on the bottom left of the screen about an inch from the either "MacBook Pro" or "Powerbook G4" written identification, i am wondering is this normal and is it because of what is on the left side of the computer or because my house is titled to the right or something?

btw i use the computers on stands, iLap for the MBP and iCurve for the Powerbook.

Hey...i think all of the mbps and pbs get hotter on the left side because that's where the processor and heat sink are. The heat would not even distribute itself across the bottom, unless the processor was in the center, but the battery is there, so the processor had to be put over on the left side..

ok, thank you, i already have smc fan control installed, i'm not really worried about it, i just kind of wondered, but the processor makes a lot of sense, just odd you would think apple would try to get the computer at least close to consistent in terms of heat distribution.
