hi everyone
I was at the apple store today and realized how nice the MBP keyboard is and fell in love with it. i'll be buying "refreshed" (used less than 14 days and reconditioned) in august, as that's when i'll actually need a laptop for highschool. i was just wondering what the general consensus is on what'll be available that far into the future.
thanks

Hovercraft MBP with Core 21 Octo's will be available in Aug 07.

They'll add rocket launcher capabilities in early 2008.

There is a good chance that there will be 1 revision of the MBP between now and then. There is also a good chance it will be a redesign with the new santa rosa chipset and i say about 30% chance of a new case design. Maybe looking at HD screens for the 17" model and a 4GB option thanks to santa rosa. A new Graphics card is also a good bet. And there is a good chance leopard will be out then so you will get a system that comes with that standard which will be very handy. Although keep in mind that nobody knows this stuff for sure and predicting what technology is around the corner is also a bit of a guess. but thats my guess anyway

Dude! You've got 1300+ posts over the past 8 months, and I assume you've read alot of posts here, also, right? Assuming you've seen how poorly anyone here predicts next week's releases, let alone next month's, .... how in **** do you expect prognostication for 9 months into the future? oneil.bt's predictions just might be correct! LOL!!!

You forgot to mention that the revised MBP will come with a 0.12 inch widescreen model

thanks for the help everyone:rolleyes: (although AlwaysRight actually was polite and helpful)

I was mainly asking how many revisions would take place between now and then, because if it's 1, then we'll be on santra rosa chipsets, which means 4GB RAM maximum and 802.11n. The only other things to think about are HD screens, graphics, larger HDDs, and a possible case change. I didn't ask for the end-all truth, I asked for some opinions. Geez!

Hmmm... I'm going to college next year, and I've been thinking about when to replace my 17" PB. I was hoping to get a new 15" MBP during summertime, but it looks like now I should wait until August/end of summer.
