Anyone having issues with their keyboard not responding every now and again?

This just started happening to me the other day...dunno what would have caused it. Have not installed any new software...

It just stopped responding a second ago, and I had to restart 3 times to get it working again...

Contact Apple, you get 1 year Warranty and 90 days phone support with Apple, so I'd get on the phone with them and see what is going on.

my A key wasnt working good for a while, but then sort of came back.

i would have to press extra hard on the A, but all of a sudden i dont have to any more. weird

Well junk, looks like I am going to need to do that...the keyboard/trackpad was working on and off earlier today...nows it totally dead...boots up to the login screen...but no keyboard, no touchpad...wtf??

This sucks...

Looks like the problem went away for about 2 days...but now its happening again...and when it happens, I have to reboot about 5-6 times to kick it back in...Apple says its not a hardware problem, but I have tried every trick in the book

Do you have any 3rd party software installed? Sometimes that'll mess up the mouse, the one program wouldn't allow me to use my trackpad TILL I logged in, and it was a mouse program, so you gotta be careful about that.

Well, for starters, I think its impossible to not have any 3rd party apps installed :D

But to answer the question...I have plenty of other apps installed, but nothing new within the past week or so when this problem started happening...also, I have nothing installed that interacts with the keyboard/touch pad...so not sure what would be causing the issue if a program was at all...

Nothing starts up automatically...I don't even get keyboard/mouse action at the login screen...caps lock key doesn't light up...NOTHING...but maybe 1/10 times if I restart it will work for a while...

This is getting really frusterating!!!

Caps key doesn't light up? Sounds like either a loose cable or power failure to that specific device area. -USB namely. Do your USB ports work with a USB mouse or USB Keyboard?

Yes, I can use a USB keyboard and mouse...I just got back from the Apple store not too long ago and they were going to fix it there, but they were out of "top boards" which they say the problem is.

Now I have to send it in and wait approx ~20 days to get it fixed...this is my daily home/work computer...can't believe this

Before I sent off my MBP I thought I would backup what I could and re-install Mac OS X...to my suprise my keyboard/touchpad kicked back in and has worked fine for several days now...but I believe I have found the original cause...

I have left my system pretty much empty over the weekend and it worked perfect...but this afternoon I went to install Application Enhancer from Unsanity...right after the install finished my keyboard/touchpad went out again

I had only had this app installed for about 1-2 weeks before the original problem...

Going to re-install AGAIN tonight and hopefully this will fix this problem again...I email Unsanity and am awaiting a response...

Anyone else had this problem or a similar prob with Application Enhancer??

**I tried uninstalling, but my keyboard/touchpad didn't kick back in :(

I don't find that the keys are unresponsive i think they require a little more pressure then any other notebook but then again it's ten times better than any notebook out there :p

Unfortunately this is not a case of the keys not being pressed hard enough...I tested that theory out the very first time this happened :)
