MBP LCD supported resolutions

I have never got myself a Mac, but I've read a lot about it
Apples says that the supported resolutions of MBP:
Supported resolutions: 1440 by 900 (native), 1280 by 800, 1152 by 720, 1024 by 640, and 800 by 500 at 16:10 aspect ratio; 1024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 at 4:3 aspect ratio; 1024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 at 4:3 aspect ratio stretched; 720 by 480 at 3:2 aspect ratio; 720 by 480 at 3:2 aspect ratio stretched

Nice to see that MBP supports 1024 x 768 without stretched, this is essential when playing games that don't support widescreen

But I have one question, how can I choose between 4:3 ratio or streched?
There are no buttons on the monitor or any function button for this purpose(as I know)

Does that mean I should set it in the driver?

If this is the case, it worries me. Bcoz nVidia drivers have bugs about flat panel scaling for windows(it simply doesn't work for 1440x900)

Is the highest resolution on your 15" 1.67GHz PowerBook G4 1280 x 854? I thought the last revision 15" PowerBook G4s had a native resolution of 1440 x 960.

Mine's not the last (Hi-Res) revision...it's the Jan 05 revision.
