Now we have the required support for higher refresh rates in the HDMI ports, I am thinking of upgrading to a higher refresh external display. I currently have an Acer 43" 4K 60Hz display with a Mac Studio connecting via displayport and the image is very crisp.
I am looking at the Samsung 43" QLED Neo QN90B 2022 model as a replacement, it will do 120Hz and 144Hz at 4K.
I know in the past MacOS has typically had a bad time with using TV's as displays and it doesn't output in RGB so you get a fuzzy display. I experienced this myself with a Samsung TV and M1 Mac Mini connected via HDMI when they were first released which resolved itself after I changed the screen to the displayport model I have now.
I suppose it is too early to know but are we going to have the same issues again on the new machines and using a TV?
I might have to take one for the team and try it when my new MBP arrives this coming week and return the screen if it doesn't work as intended.
Hopefully looking forward to a nice 4K 144Hz MacOS experience on an external display!
