Hello guys,

Am sorry I feel a newbie when it comes to monitors.
I'm planning a desktop setup using my MBP M3 Pro .
I know I can only stream multiple screens using Thunderbolt. So I will be getting Dell U2724DE , which has thunderbolt hub.
But my other screen is an older Dell screen with only USB C support.
Connection is going to be MBP Thunderbolt 4 to Dell Thunderbolt 4 ( using TB Cable ) , then from the 27'' Dell Thunderbolt out to Dell 24" USB C ( I can use a thunderbolt cable as well ) but the last screen is essentially USB C ( Or I can use DisplayPort or HDMI )
Will that work ? ( As if I'm connecting a screen to a TB Hub using HDMI/DP/USB C ) ?

Thank you !

It is definitely not Thunderbolt, DisplayPort 1.4 ? what is the connection then ? DP between the 2 screens ?

This is the TDS for the second monitor
Interfaces
  • DisplayPort 1.2 (HDCP 1.4)
  • HDMI (HDCP 1.4)
  • USB 3.2 Gen 1 upstream
  • 4 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 downstream

Yes. The Dell TB display has a DisplayPort 1.4 out port. Your second monitor has which input ports exactly? Before you buy, read some of the reviews on the Dell product page. There are mentions that daisy chain feature does not work on Macs. You had best do your own research.

I don't think current Macs support the display MST required to daisy chain from one monitor to the next. They'll both have to be plugged directly into the Mac, or you'll need a Thunderbolt hub to run the two displays off one port (I run two Apple Studio Displays off one TB4 port with a CalDigit TS4 hub).
