MBP (Mid-2014) Error -2006 F

Hey guys,

I have a Macbook Pro (Mid-2014) running High Sierra that's been acting up. I CMD+R after powering off and decided to simply reset the OS, but now I am getting an error -2006F on the screen with a caution sign. I tried to recover it again but it gives me that error...

Any help would be grand as I use this one for school. (I did use the search bar but I could not find anything.)
If y'all could help, let me know (close the thread in case there's one open!)

Use Internet recovery to re-install the OS. Make sure the MacBook is powered off. Press the power button and immediately hold down cmd+opt+r.

Googling around...I only found:

Quicktime error
noMediaHandler = -2006

Doubt that has anything to do with a machine not booting.

You can do the Recover as Audit mentioned...and that should correct any OS errors...assuming no hardware issues.

If your drive is failing, that could explain both the acting up (typically a failing boot drive wil cause delays, spinning beach balls, and other odd errors, including corrupted files...and not booting).

I you can boot a an external drive, and the machine behaves, it also suggests a failing boot drive. Is it a hard drive or solid state?

Although less common newer machines, a failing SATA cable is possible, and fairly easy to replace.
