Today, after day 4 with my new macbook pro, i noticed a different sound than the screen hiss thing that many people report. Mine sounds like a clicking/clucking/creaking noise coming from the back right corner, by the hinge of the screen. Like by the DVI port corner. I was thinking maybe its a fan? Doesn't sound like a hard drive. Is that even where the hard drive is located? Should i have this checked out? When I turn the computer off, its still there for a little bit, and does it sporadically, so its not continuous.

Does it sound kind of like a pencil bouncing on a table sort of? cause I think I'm hearing it too!

At first I thought it was just something I had installed making the sound cause it sounded like it was coming out of the speakers, but now I'm pretty sure it's the computer itself... it just seems to happen at random times.

I do get the hiss as well, but Apple's shipping me a brand new one as we speak so I can't really complain.

yeah kinda

how you get them to ship you a new one, while keeping this one too for the time being?

My dad just gave Apple support his credit card number and they charged it to him. When we send back the old one they'll credit us back the full amount. I don't know why they don't present this as an option outright because it seems like it would be a lot easier for people who can't go without their computer. If it turns out you're qualified to return it and you ask them I'm sure they'll do it the same way.

The reason I'm sending mine back is not because of noise problems though, it had a small dent in the case when it was shipped to me, not really too noticeable but we talked to them and they said they'd replace it.
