MBP plug into WXGA 32" LCD TV: quality?

I am looking for experiences from people who have plugged their MacBook Pro DVI -> HDMI on a LCD TV set.

My TV has a native 1366x768 (WXGA) resolution and I wonder whether the content will look sharp.

I haven't bought the DVI to HDMI cable yet and wanted to hear from others before I do so.

Depending on what you are doing, it should look quite sharp, and assuming you are able to get the TV on the correct res (should be able to)
 
Oh yeah, it'll look crisp. I've run things through my 32" before (same res).

Only issue is, it's not very efficent to use for monitor replacement when at home with the lid closed, as the res on the TV is lower than on the MBP.

But as a second monitor, or if you want to watch some HD movies... it works great.

What resolution do you run at? And do you use VGA or DVI/HDMI?

A lot of people are telling me that if you want native res you need to use VGA but i'd much prefer to use HDMI!

I've been toying with the idea of getting a 32" LCD TV 1080p for use as a monitor for my MBP since I can dual-use the screen with an PS3 or Xbox360.

What are the gotchas?

Will this setup provide a sharp, readable screen like a 1920x1080 computer monitor would? (granted, the pixels will be larger do to the low res in ratio to the screen size).

I use dvi/hdmi and it looks incredible. I believe my tv automatically detects the correct resolution which is 1920/1080, I'll check that later. Yes it looks just as nice as the apple cinema display I used to have I think. Its a great setup.
 
What 32" TV's out there actually do 1080p? I mean which ones actually have a 1080p screen?
 
Sharp do a 32" 1080p unit that would be perfect for HD gaming and dual display. Due to the unusual size you may have to pay a premium, it doesn't work out particularly cheaper than 37 or 42 inchers on the market...

Personally I know I wouldn't want anything as big as a 37 inch unit, especially with resolution "only" maxing out at 1080 vertical.

I'm dreaming of the release of a Cinema Display with component inputs, maybe even HDMI... unlikely as that is.

Otherwise, I'll be going for the gp1u.

The Sharp 32" was the one I was looking at. It is $1399 at Bestbuy and does 1080p. Anything larger, I think, would be too big to use as a computer display with such a small resolution. Then again, a 23" ACD is much less expensive.

I'd love to get a 30" ACD, but I have seen too many posts about "snow" or "dancing pixels" when paired with the SR MBP. It kind of gripes me because the ability to drive a 30" was one of the reasons I got a MBP.
 
I hook up my 17" MacBook Pro to my 40" Samsung LCD TV in my bedroom. It's very nice when I use Front Row, unfortunately, it's only 1366x768, but it's still really really awesome. I have all my media on an external hard drive via airport extreme, so I just stream my movies to my MacBook Pro while hooked up to my TV.

Very, very slick. Now if only I can get a 50"+ 1080p LCD and I should be pretty happy. I actually think I would take a 61" Samsung DLP 1080p TV, that would be sweet.

I believe Ive seen 32" sharps on sale for black friday around 700 somewhere
