Sounds like your battery is dead. This happened to me. The laptop functions perfectly, except when you want to use it as a laptop. Call apple or take it to an authorized service center. If you call, they'll tell you to take it there anyways.

Good luck.

Funny thing tho, i replaced the battery under the recall in which they did for the MBP battery last year. Dont know why it would die like that so fast. never had that happen so fast before.

Thanks

Mine was pretty random. I bought mine in Nov of 06 and one night, i unplugged my laptop and went to my desk to print something. The battery worked fine, but when I came back to the laptop, it had shut off and the battery had failed. It's weird, but it sounds like your battery is dead.

I called applecare. They'll probably tell you to take it to a service center to get the battery tested.
