I have a SR 2.4 MacBook Pro (15.4) with 1GBx2 sticks. I am going to upgrade it with a 4GB kit of 2gbx2 sticks. Can I use the old 1GB sticks in my Intel C2D 2GHz iMac (Aluminum iMac)? They both look to be DDR2 PC2-5300 RAM with the same specs... they're both 200 pin, 667mhz, etc... aren't they? Just want to make sure before I order RAM. I'm only justifying this because I can upgrade my MBP and iMac at the same time by buying 1 kit of ram.

I have almost exactly the same situation and same question, but in this case the iMac in question is my Dad's 17" 1.83GHz iMac which is Core Duo, not Core2Duo like the Thread Starter.

According to the Crucial 'memory advisor', it's exactly the same RAM. But I just wanted to check here before I trash my Dad's Mac.

EDIT: Ah. Should've checked the guide first!
