Over the weekend I bought 2GB of RAM (upgrading from 512mb) for my MBP 2.0GHz CoreDuo that I bought in August of last year. I got the RAM from Data Memory Systems after checking the MacRumors Buying Guide.

However, they came today and I had a few issues. After installing the RAM, my MBP booted up a very wierd way. The optical drive sound that it makes when booting up was very faint, and everything was acting like the display was asleep but My MPB would not wake up out of this state, so I did a hard reboot and it came on! My MPB did recognize the RAM in 'about this mac'. Unfortunately 10 minutes later my screen just went black and was now acting just like it did on the initial start up.
After countless restarts, the samething kept happening. I then took out the 2 GB of Ram put the 512mb and a 1gb in to see if it would work. Again it worked fine until I opened dashboard and the screen went black again. This time though I could see my cursor, but the cursor was a completely black screen.
Note- MPB was NOT plugged into the AC adapter during these trials.
This has been a frustrating ideal, and forgive me for writing this lengthy explanation. I wanted to be thorough.
So can you guys help me. Is there something I didn't do after installing the RAM?
Any help would be appreciated.
