Is this a good deal? Does it change the equation over a new M2 Air with upgraded RAM to 16?

It’s $200 more than the 8 core gpu m2 air with equivalent ram/storage. $100 more than the 10 core.

It’s a no brainer to get the pro here imo. I just went for it and was previously in the market for the m2 air. The only trade off is the weight.

that RAM though =(
People needing 32gb are probably never getting a sale.

And if the M2 MBP presale is any indication, 16/24gb M2 Airs are not going to be available for months.

This is probably the only place to get a mac with 16gb of ram in short order for only $200 more than an M2 air. (or $100 more than 10 core gpu Air).

Of course, I ordered a new base model 14 from BB a couple days ago, before the sale. Chatting with them now to see if I can get that $200 back!

UPDATE: It appears to have worked!

UPDATE 2: Was ready to pick up a day early to boot! Pretty decent upgrade from the MBA! Me likey!

Yeah, I looked around as best I could for a sale on 32GB. No go, Joe. Wound up eventually biting that bullet. 😅

That the M2 MBP 13” was not immediately available to order on June 17 with 16gb of RAM gave me pause. I had been torn between ordering an M2 Air with upgraded RAM at presale, vs picking up a base 14” MBP now. When mnsportsgeek suggested that like the M2 MBP, the M2 Air with upgraded RAM wouldn’t be immediately available to order, that plus Best Buy’s $200 discount put me over the edge and I pulled the trigger on base model 14” for pickup June 25, trading in my M1 MBP 13”.

But how about the glorious Touch Bar? Are you all too willing to abandon it for mere ports??

Just got mine deivered from Best Buy today. It doesn’t feel thick or heavy at all. The Air is probably going to be the ultimate in portability, but I’m more than happy with opting for the Pro. Don’t see any situation where this would be inconvenient to travel with.

I ended up biting the bullet for this one too today with the plan to replace my current 2017 13` I think it'll be a big update but if I think I can get by without it or not totally in love with it I'll send it back.

MBP m1 $999

I picked up an M1 13" MacBook Pro from Best Buy using this deal and it's a really nice machine. The M1 Air I have has been completely flawless since I purchased it but this M1 Pro does have some advantages over that machine. The screen is much better on the Pro in brightness and color and the keyboard is much nicer to type on. The speakers aren't louder but sound less tinny and have better bass.

I'm going to use the Pro for a few more days before I decide wether to sell the M1 Air or return the 13" Pro and wait for the M2 MacBook Air which was my original intention.

Even though I just set up everything again, I am so tempted to take back the Silver one I got for the Space Grey base model. I have never been so wishy washy on a laptop purchase ever before.
