This is the weirdest thing I have ever seen.

I'm in a dark room and the display dims (obviously) but it's almost like half the LEDs turned off while the others are on. There are very visible "rows" of light. It's like coloms/pillars of light where every other colom is dark. It looks like: light | dark | light | dark | light | dark, etc., but it's only coming from the bottom half of the screen. :confused::confused::confused:

EDIT: of course when I just closed the lid and opened it back up again, the problem was gone, but still! o_O
 
It's weird that you are able to experience this so explicitly.

I know on my MBP that when the screen is totally black I also see these bars. I guess it's due the LEDs way of lighting but mine is not that explicit that it bothers me.

My wife's MBP had some funky lines when we first bought it. Six months later the whole thing went bad and we got the screen replaced under warranty. Your lines might be a sign of things to come, so keep an eye on your warranty expiration date!
