I bought my MBP on Tuesday, had an extra gig of ram installed. Everything else is off the shelf.
When the screen brightness is within about 6 of the maximum level, there's a quiet whinning (really high pitched sound, like a TV that's on). When it gets to the brightest setting the sound gets very loud (it increments along the scale), to the point where my eyes start to water. I have pretty good ears (can hear the TV on in the next room with doors closed), but this is rediculous. I asked my older officemates, and they could hear it...
What gives???
