I ordered mine on Tuesday with expedited shipping and it shipped on the following day. It hasn't changed at all since than as it is still in Shanghai. Is it possible that it's much farther than that and they just failed to update their system? Also, when does FedEx update because it's 9:23am here in California and there is nothing new to report on my shipping page.

Try this site. http://isnoop.net/tracking/It gives you more detailed and timely details than the Fedex or UPS sites themselves!
when mine shipped (2 day shipping) it seemed to sit in china forever as well, but then it updated at midnight to say it was in Alaska and then by the time i woke up the next morning it was already on the truck for delivery (on the east coast of US). Don't worry, it'll be in your hands before you know it. 
Yeah Apple's tracking information if absolutely shocking. I had a similar experience when my MacBook was being delivered.
