Hello,
I have a 15" MacBook Pro, 1.83 GHz Core Duo. A couple weeks ago my computer stopped giving the "reserve battery power" warning and just clicks off spontaneously with usually about 30-40 minutes of battery power left according to the timer. Also, when it's charging, it will go from "Charged" to "Calculating" off and on throughout the charge cycle and the light on the charger changes from red to green and back every few seconds. I just want to know if there is something wrong with my battery, and if there is a way I can get the reserve battery warning to come back on again.
Thanks so much!

If it's only shutting off when on the battery, you have a bad battery. Was your battery recalled? A lot of the 1.83GHz batteries were. If so, you can get a new one for free. Give Apple a call either way.

Thanks! I didn't even think to check if my battery should be recalled because I bought it in June and the recall was for February-May, but I bought it refurb, so it was an earlier model. My battery is indeed recalled :)

Is there a spot on Apple's website that lists the affected batteries? The only thing I find is the iBook/PowerBook recall. I have a 1.83 MBP that has a 156 mAh battery and isn't even 1 yr. old. I called AppleCare and they didn't mention it.
Thanks...

Holy Cow!

I found out my battery was recalled just yesterday, and you can see from the time of my post it was about 3:00 pm when I filled out the online form for exchange. I received it today! I'm not sure exactly what time it came, but it was in my mailbox at work at 1:30. Amazing!
