I just check my tracking number and my 2.2 ghz mbp is sitting in the local fedex store and going to be all weekend! No. Just a half a day sooner! Is there any way I can goto the local store and ask for it? (I dont know if this is a dumb question, but Ive been waiting a long time)

Depends on how far it is to the store vs. how much you want the computer.

If it's less than 30 min drive, go. 30-1h, if you want your computer now. More, if really necessary. Nothing to lose but time and gas...

I bet they will only give it to you if you can provide one of their 'missed delivery' slips. This kind of stuff is so frustrating. Especially if its computers or car parts you are expecting :D

The drive is only 20 minutes... Has anyone actually done this? What information do I need to provide??

I picked up a missed package before, just bring an id like a driver's license and if you have the missed package slip, and print-out your tracking no. info.

The OP didn't say he has a missed delivery slip.

If it just got there, and it has never been provisioned for local delivery in the first place, you may not be able to just go pick it up.

you could call fed ex with your tracking number, but most fed ex field offices are closed for pick ups on weekends, so you'll just have to wait till Monday. Maybe you can arrange to pick it up first thing in the AM with your DL. :)

Why don't you actually call FedEx? Seems like you're wasting your time posting these types of questions on an Apple-related support board.

you'll need a gas mask, 5 smoke grenades, and an escape helicopter. Then go to the FedEx after they close and do what you gotta do.:p:p:p

I'm pretty sure that's the case.

Another reason why the OP would be outta luck is that it's Saturday-- even if the place was open, it'd likely have shorter Saturday hours and won't be open tomorrow. So Monday it is. ;)

Sad thing is that there at least need to be an attempt to ship it. It really so I couldn't go down there and say "I'd like my MBP please" It sucks when stuff gets suck at the shipping company. I feel the worst for that is UPS. At least if Fed Ex gets your package on Friday, they will ship it Saturday.

Wow sorry:p... Lol. I did call Fedex and the store has a long automated voice thing that never stops. So I decided to drive down there. Apparently my MBP is in a massive crate and wont be opened until monday morning. So I had them hold it at their store so I can drive there bright and early to pick it up. Thanks everyone for your help.

the same thing happened to me.
it arived at my local fedex, about 10 min away, saturday morning at 4:50 am... and they normally dont start making the round till 7:00! So I had to wait to next monday, which was yesterday. Its well worth the wait! I love this thing!

Same for me! Only difference is that my MBP is being sent back to Apple and not coming. It's been in a FedEx in PA for 3 days :p

What ended up happening?

Josh

I waited (seemed like forever!) till monday. And now am writing on my beautifle 2.2 MBP. I love it soooo much! I got an LG screen and ts perfect.

Yeah, FedEx (and UPS) don't delivery on the weekends unless you spend an arm and a leg more (I think you can only get Saturday delivery on overnight packages shipped Friday, meaning you have to pay overnight cost PLUS additional for the Saturday delivery, only available for shipping from and to the US so if your comp came from China you wouldn't even have that option) otherwise packages basically don't make any progress for two full days. Sucks if you're anxiously waiting!! Luckily my MBP shipped on a Monday, arrived that Thursday so I didn't have to wait over a weekend.

A package containing my 2GBs of RAM arrived in my city yesterday at noon via UPS. The package will probably not be delivered today so it will most likely get to me tomorrow. That means my package has been 5 minutes away from me for over 48 hours. It took UPS 24 hours to get the package from Memphis, TN to Lenexa, KS but 48 hours to get the package from the Lenexa hub to my door (which is 2 miles away). The RAM is coming from NewEgg btw.

So frustrating!

These stupid delays are why I usually order things next day delivery no matter what the extra cost is. I had ordered iPhone car adaptor and case from Apple two weeks ago on a Wednesday. I didn't get the charger till the next Monday and the case got here the next day. On the Apple site, it doesn't offer next day or I would always use it.

I ordered memeory last month for a PC from Newegg at about 2PM on a Wednesday and got it at 11.30 AM the next day. Now that is shipping! Just cost $20 extra.
