Hi guys,

I have a macbook CD 1.8 and have recently bought a MBP 2.4 C2D 15.4". When I close the lid on my MBP (and it goes into sleep mode) and then later on come back to it and open it up, it seems to take quite a few seconds longer for the screen to come on and for the computer to awake from sleep mode compared to my macbook.

Is this normal? Just wondered whether MBP's were known to take a bit longer to awake from sleep mode.

Thanks

mine takes about 5-10 seconds, but ive never used a macbook so i cant really compare it

I second that, my flat mate has a Macbook and his seems about the same.

Wouldnt worry about it, it waking up is a whole lot better than what some people are experiencing with it not waking up at all!!!

Hope that eases you :)

I just got my mbp last night. I came home from work today and opened the lid and it seemed like it took about 20-30 seconds to start up. The screen was black and the beach ball was spinning. I thought it was messed up.

would by any chance any of your have either:
1. screen saver on b4 it goes to sleep
2. have to enter passwords when the computer wakes up??

this happens on my dad's old ibook sometimes, i think it has something to do with HD spinning up, or RAM being moved filtered or something.

I closed the lid to make it go to sleep. But I do have the password security turned on. I'll see if that helps.

Nope, my screen goes to sleep b4 I have the screen saver on

This morning I woke it up (by opening lifting the screen). It showed the password window but then the screen went immediately black and the beach ball came up. I let it sit for a minute then closed the lid. It took a while to go to sleep again but when I opened it the screen was dark and nothing. Closed and opened the screen again. After pushing a few keys the screen finally showed up and I logged on. The display was very dim. I checked the brightness and it was set to one notch only. I'm thinking maybe some how the brightness was turned all the way off, which is why I couldn't see anything the second time I opened the screen.

Any one had this happen before?
