Title sums it up. Sometimes I close my MBP and I hear the Apple start sound 10 seconds later. It doesn't happen often, but it's happened 3 times this past week or so (4-5 times since I purchased it early Jan). My only guess is the power button gets pushed down but my MBP seems perfectly normal.

Does this happen to anybody else?

It actually has happened to me a few times since I bought my MBP. Maybe happens once a month mostly because I use my MBP in my office and use it to run my ACD. I just turn it on to boot up and close the laptop to put it to sleep and that's it for closing or opening it the rest of the day.

It happend to me when I had the CD1 MBP and it is happenning to my sister. Mine would wake from sleep regarless of how I put it to sleep.

I had a lot of problems with my CD1 MBP and Apple ended up replacing it with a CD2. The CD2 has not given me any problems

BTW I'm getting these reboots on a C2D 2.33 15". I guess they haven't fixed the problem yet.

yeah, mine's on a 15" 2.16. It's not a big problem, maybe happens 1-2% of the time (just a few recently). It's annoying, though. Didn't know it was so widespread.

It's the power outlet. My macbook is always forced to wake from sleep when I have it in my apt but everywhere else is fine.

Now that I think of it should I contact Apple about this problem. I know it's pretty minor but I paid close to 2500 for this darned thing and it should be perfect. Any chance they would replace it? I actually bought it online so I guess I can't take it to the apple store right?

Called Apple and they told me that this issue was fixed with the last firmware update. They also had me do a pmu reset. Took the battery and power off and held down the power button for 7 seconds. Let's see how it goes.
