I've had my 15" 2.2Ghz Macbook Pro for like 3 weeks now. I immediately noticed that my battery health was 98% out of the box and not 100% as one would expect. However, I disregarded this as something minimal that could probably be resolved through calibration.
I realized lately however that my battery life dropped to 94% with only 8 cycles. This startled me a bit so I decided to calibrate my battery as per the instructions on the Apple Support website (charge up, wait 2 hrs, drain until it sleeps, wait till it dies - no longer sleeping, recharge). The battery life is still being reported as 94%.
I bought my Macbook Pro along with a friend who also bought one too and his battery is still 100% after 20 something cycles. Does it appear that I have a faulty battery? I fully understand that the batteries basically begin to "die" once they're created, but it just seems mine might have an issue and if it does I'd like to identify it early.
