Always happens with playing Call of Duty 2, though Doom 3 has also frozen my machine a couple of times. I'm on a week old 2.2MBP but I have not upgraded to 10.4.1 since I hear it's the devil. Quake IV gives me no issues at all which makes me believe it might be game-specific. COD2 lags quite badly too while Quake IV runs like a dream. I'm using the recommended settings except I've changed anti-aliasing to 2x as it seemed to help with the lag issues. When Doom 3 freezes I either have to wait about 20seconds and it unfreezes itself or I'll have to hold the power button to power off. I have patched D3 to the UB version ans I'm in the process of going to 1.3 for COD2. In both these games it happens when there's a new event in the game like getting crushed by a tank or having a monster pop out of the shadows.

Is this something I should learn to live with  , or am I dealing with a larger problem???

Thanks
