So i want to get my MBP fixed. However, i have some 3rd party things in it that i dont know if i should remove. I have a invisible shiled on the front along with 2 gb of kingston memory. I have a 1st gen 1.83 ghz computer and posted about 3 days ago the screen is bad etc. Now, there is a weird noise coming form the left hand corner of the laptop near the speaker. I believe it is the fan im not sure it gets worse but this is the best vid I can get. I was thinking of bringing it to a mac cafe rather than mailing it in and apple "not hearing" the noise and mailing it back unfixed.

Get it sent in pronto and get that fan fixed as a busted fan can lead to other more severe issues. if you think it could be something other than the fan then still it would be something that should still get sent in to get checked out.

I was just wondering what the outcome of you sending it in was. if you sent it in to apple did they replace it? my laptop has started doing this, and ive only had it just over a month so im thinking of taking it to the store next week. thankyou.

Well the fan got worse and worse. It sounded like a power saw. i went to an apple store and when i got there the sound was gone! OF course!!!! It went down and now made the tiny sound. They said it was the harddrive and not the fan! nothing was done. I guess the problem will never get fixed. Hope you have better luck!
