Hey everyone,
I have noticed this weird issue when trying to change DNS settings on my router (AirPort Extreme).
As soon as I change the DNS settings on my router, WiFi speed on my MBP drops significantly (download drops from 300Mbps to like 15Mbps). All other devices work just fine though! What's even weirder is that even if I restore the previous DNS settings, the WiFi stays slow for ~3 days, then the speed goes back to normal. I have tried this 3 times with different DNS providers.
Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this?

Thank you,

Dom

I have no idea what could cause that, but DNS settings should not affect download speed.

Depends! What DNS did this?

I day only use DNS sr res that closet to you!

Well I believe I tried Google and Cloudflare. It doesn't really matter though as they both should work fine and also other devices connected to the WiFi were working just fine.

Then go to your Mac System Preferences Network and turn off your Wi-Fi and do this steps:

1.Open System Preferences->Network and Chose your Airport card!
2. At the top of pane you see a ‘Location’ toggle bar so chose that toggle and make custom Name (Don’t worry it will still hunt for Wi-Fi signals)!
3. Look in bottom part of pane and save that change when making a change!
4. Rejoin you wireless network!
