MBP Will not Burn to a DVD

I have a 2.33 MBP and I'm trying to burn a dvd and I've used 3 already. Everytime it try to burn one it says there is a communication error and then the disk ejects and is wasted. Why is this so difficult. on top of that it takes 10 minutes to close the session and eject.

What brand are you using? Try a different one. Your drive may be picky...

Or it's possible to just have a bad batch. I had a whole spindle of Maxell that didn't work (on my mac), but the next one i bought did. Werid.
