MBP wont wake from sleep

So I close the lid on my MBP but when I open it up I cant get the screen to come back on. The computer seems to wake from sleep because I can turn the keyboard backlight on and off and adjust the speaker volume but I cant get the screen to come back on. I have to restart the computer to get it to come back on. What could be causing this?

Did you try the 1.3 Firmware update?

I have the same problem, and it just started today. Its starting to bug me.

After uninstalling iStat, I can close my lid without worrying.

No way, could istat really be behind all this? I love that widget. Anyone else get similar results?

yea i removed istat v4.5 and no more sleep problems and no more laggy mouse pointer problems. I found an older version of istat..which isnt as good as 4.5 but im willing to sacrifice.

Mine took a while to just wake right now, but it still did wake... There is also a download off Apple to fix the waking issue.

I had the same issue. After removing iStat, my mbp no longer have Sleep issues.

Removed my istat a while a ago too. No issues so far. I wonder if this would also explain the random application crashes I was having too? Anybody else have apps randomly quitting on them?
