Okay, so my MBP should be here in a week or so :))) meantime I'm buying various accessories for it. I've already got a Neocase sleeve for it and I'm wondering about getting a wristguard.

Any views on which is the best:

Applepeelz

Wrist Rug

InvisibleShield

Or another brand ?

Or not really needed ????

I highly recommend you get a wrist guard if you're a perfectionist or a clean freak. No matter how hard you try to avoid the palm rest from being scratched or absorbing sweat, it'd still wear over time.

I have a Moshi PalmGuard for my MBP. The price is reasonable and the colour best matches the MBP compared to other brands. I paid about 15 pounds for it.

actually i was just reading about that - sounds good. Have you tried removing it after a couple of months ? does it leave any residue or anything ??

It is "quite" re-movable and I have tried doing that. I can confirm that it leaves to residues at all, not even bubbles. A fantastic product. Plus, you could barely tell there's anything on the palm rest.

cool - I'm going to order one now - thanks for the help !

They don't make one for the 17" MBP? What are they thinking (or not thinking)?

i got this one , from marware, its really good.

I put the moshi on my comp. It now makes the lid harder to close. Did you experience this?

Invisib

Inviso shield looks nice. ANyone have experience with it? Id like to get that if I could

Im also interested in inviso shield. I have heard they make nice PDA screen protectors. i dont recommend the marware one as it doesnt cover trackpad. But all the others look good.

The cute little ones that cover just the wrist pads are great...! You won't regret getting them.

But if you want the best protection for your machine available get the Apple Peelz. It covers the whole book for $50 including the battery, trackpad, wristguard.... you get the idea. The best $50 but some of the photogs at my newspaper job, myself and my girlfriend have ever spent.

The only downside, if you want to call it that, is that you have to do a wet application to be safe.

What a coincidence!
I have reviewed the invisible shield on my blog and posted my personal review just a couple of days ago and since yesterday I have a contest where you can win the full body version of the shields (worth around 55$). Just drop by if you are interested.

well I got the Moshi wrist guard and its wonderful !

Very easy to apply, looks great and feels good - highly recommend it.

Sweat - or rather typical hand-borne chemistry - can actually 'stain' anodised aluminium - but that's the lesser of two issues.

It's amazing how abrasive the human hand is really. Of course you don't notice it yourself because it's constantly renewed. But when it's constantly in contact with something which isn't being renewed constantly, you do see a considerable amount of wear on the surface.

Sweat stains aluminum?

If I'm remembering correctly, our body sweat is slightly acidic, overtime the body sweat coming in contact with the palm rest can start developing pits. I'm not 100% sure about our body sweat, but I've heard of some people who've developed pits on there palm rest on the MBP.

Wet? That kinda freaks me out.

but i hate the way it makes it look as though your mbp is made by Marware.

LOL! I though the same thing!

MacBook Pro :apple: by MARWARE

I'm confused with all their choices (without descriptions). I tried calling their number and their mailbox is full.
  • Bottom Shield
  • Full Body Shield
  • Standard Shield
  • Top Shield
  • Wrist Shield
Some I can guess but what does "standard shield" mean?

i have the marware palm-rest also. one question..does the corner/side of your marware peel/lift up? every now and then i have to slide my palm over it to make it stick again, its very annoying. i wiped down the wrist area before applying the guard. do i have a defective product? lol
