Hi,

Got a MBP M1 Max 14" laptop in Feb 2022 and I have recently had "battery not charging" warning when I click on the battery sign. The computer states that power adapter is connected but unit not charging. I do not have "optimized battery charging" activated. I am using original Macbook charger and magsafe cable.

When I reset SMC the laptop then charges via the adapter.

However, this is the third time this has happened in less than a week and not sure why it keeps happening. I cleaned the magsafe cable/laptop port but that did not solve the issue. Only resetting SMC worked. Now would like to prevent it.

Same problem but charging via USB-C (original Apple power adapter and original Apple USB-C-cable). Haven't tried resetting SMC yet.

Did you use charge limiter app, like Aldente and others? If so (which I do as well), you may need to do SMC reset once a while.
