Hey,

I'd like to add an extra flat panel for my 15" 2.2 MBP so I can utilize two screens worth of independent real estate [NOT mirrored]. Do any of you have the same configuration? Any tips on what I should be looking for? I was basically gonna get a run-of-the-mill inexpensive 19-20 inch widescreen flatpanel.

Thanks!

Any will work nicely. Widescreen are a nice plus, and an 8-bit panel will look much better than a 6-bit TN panel.

I have my MBP set on a Griffin Elevator next to a Dell 2007WFP. You can get it on sale for $329 CAN so it's only slightly more than a Best Buy caliber LCD, but substantially better as it uses an S-IPS panel (same as the 20" Apple Cinema Display). At work I have a Viewsonic TN panel and text is rather fuzzy and gives me a headache after a lot of use. Text on the Dell is sharp and clear, no problems at all. If you're going to be staring at a screen for hours, better make sure it is a good one.

Yep those Dell panels are some of the best and you can often snatch one up on a great deal, such as during the Dell Days of Deals. I love my 2405FPW.

+1 on the WFPs.
