MBPr receiving is regular SMS and that seems ok but the mac doesn't ring when someone calls, only the iphone does.

Did you enable iPhone Cellular Calls on both your iPhone and the Mac? On the Mac, this is located in FaceTime's preferences. On the iPhone, it's located inside Settings -> FaceTime -> iPhone Cellular Calls
yes i did. it works on the imac not the MBPr, identical setup. turning off imac doesn't help either and neither does signing out from iCloud on the imac

im getting crazy. even apple support didn't know what to do. im sensing that there is either a bug or there is some setting outside facetime/icloud setting on the MBPr that stops it from functioning.cant see what that could be.
