umm... What the hell is actually being made that supports this slot... I stil haven't seen one Sound Card/Audio interface that utilizes that slot so far.....

I don't recall if it took this long for the PCMCIA slots to become more ubiquitous and with more options.

The card reader would definitely be handy--I miss having the integrated reader that was in my windows laptop. There are a few goodies for the slot as noted by folks here, but like the OP, I wish there were an audio interface that used the express card slot.
