Anyone know how to get McAfee running?
My company VPN won't let me connect without it running.
I just get error code 1 and then it stops.

Thanks for your help,

Rob

Mhh... my issues were completely unrelated...
I couldn't launch FCPX and Flash CS6.

What solved it was going to the User Library Folder and giving me and all enclosed items read and write privileges...

You can do it like this:

Finder → Go → Library (keep ALT pressed to make it visible as an option)

Select the folder in Finder (you can see it then if you choose the third ciew option that shows you a hierarchy of panes next to each other).

Right click the Library Folder... Get Info...All the way done permissions.
Hit the little lock icon and unlock.

It should read your name aka the name of your admin account... set it to read+write...

click the options gear... and set it to apply to all enclosed items...

That did it for me!

Thanks for the tip. Tried that but to no avail.
I also rebooted after making the change to see if that would help, no joy.

Any other ideas anyone?

Here's a screenshot, I can't see a crash dump anywhere.

Sadly I'm forced to have McAfee running to connect to my company VPN.
Otherwise I wouldn't bother.

And without the VPN it means I'm forced to work from the office....

You should probably downgrade then, my company issued a policy that no one can upgrade their Macs to Yosemite. It looks like you're having issues with some required software, so the best approach imo, is to go back to Mavericks.

Is there a way to do an easy downgrade?

This may not be an ideal solution for you, but you might consider it....

Install Parallels, along with Win 7/8, run a VPN through the windows that will be running Mcaffe.

Hi there.
If you have Endpoint Protection 2.1 installed this won't work. Install VSM960 instead this will work.

i've same error message than you, but actually your vpn is probably checking that an endpoint solutionis installed not actually running.

Running an Anti-Virus program is just as bad if not worse than actually having a virus. Those things are garbage.
