Wow! That's my first impression.

I've been a long time user of Diztronic cases. They were a perfect blend of thinness yet thick enough for basic drop protection. Recently, I've been dying to use the iPhone 6 naked since I love the slim feel so I started looking for a decent case.

I wanted something very very thin, like the Caudabe Veil, but TPU not plastic. Some of you may have read recently in another thread, I purchased the very thin Anker TPU cases (double pack off amazon for $10). Those were Veil thin but made of TPU. I liked them a lot at first and still do. But I saw the 50% off deal on the Mcdodo so I pulled the trigger on it too. Well it finally arrived.

It's very very thin. The pictures on their site make it look like that, but I had a feeling it was just computer graphics and it would be thicker, like the Diztronic. But nope....it's slightly thicker than the paper thin Anker cases, but not by much and it almost seems they are the same. It's very flexible, almost floppy but not as much as the Anker when compared side by side. All buttons are covered, except for the mute switch, and have molded indicators showing you what the button does. I thought that was a nice detail. Mic, ports and camera cut outs are very precise. The headphone jack and lightning port have fold back plugs which are nice and tight fitting. The camera lens is perfectly flush with the case, if that helps you judge it's thickness.

I got the grey color, which as you can see below is a lot lighter, almost clear, when compared to the similarly grey Anker case. But this is perfect. I didn't want a clear case. It's light enough to see the phone, almost as if there was no case whatsoever. Unlike the Anker case, the corners are tight and don't peel away easily. The sides are just as "peelable" as the Anker, due to case material and thinness. Like the Anker, there is no lay on table protection. The side of the case comes right up to the highest point of the curve it seems.

This case is not for drop protection, but for someone who again, doesn't want bulk but doesn't want to sacrifice using a naked phone. This case also is not a fingerprint magnet like the Anker cases are. Definitely worth the $10 with the 50% off code. Frankly, I would spend the full price on this case, although it's thinness may make some people wonder if it's worth it. Sure looks like a lot of precise manufacturing was spent on this case. Unlike the Anker, there are no seams or flashing left from the molding process. I highly suggest this case for someone looking for the minimal feel, better grip vs naked and higher precision and quality that cheaper cases can't offer. I think I just found my new everyday case.

Thanks for the review, the comparisons and the pics! Sounds like a winner here. :)

How's the grippiness of the cases? Specifically, do you feel comfortable using the phone with one hand? And does it slide in and out easily if your pockets?

How's the response of the buttons? Does it click easily or do you need to press hard?

Does the camera sit flush with the case or is the case slightly thicker than the camera?

Case is definitely grippy enough for one handed use. The buttons click with ease, the case doesn't make it hard at all. The case is perfectly flush with the camera lens. Doesn't protrude nor is it sunken below the case.

I agree with the review. Nice grip in the hand, but slides in and out of pockets easily. Buttons feel almost like there is nothing covering them. My camera sits a fraction above the case.

Thanks for the answers!

I like the sound of the buttons being responsive. I have a cheap clear case from ebay, and while I like the case a lot, the buttons are pretty hard to press.

Spigen - Air Skin

I love the perfection, high quality, and flawless precision fit of all models that Spigen Offers. For variety I buy one of each model.

Here's their latest case, or more correctly "skin".

I highly suggest it for those who want the security of a better grip instead of the slippery surface without anything covering the phone.

Trying to push a spigen product in a Mcdodo thread? this was for a review of this one case, not asking to suggest others. There's another thread for that. Personally, I wouldn't pay $25 for something that simple. The Mcdodo case looks much better, is just as well made and cheaper.

Love the case, but my camera cutout is horrible! Its actually rubbing up against the camera and is crooked. Hope they replace it

Post a pic please. My camera cutout is very large and comes nowhere near the camera lens. That's probably the only thing I don't like about the case. The cutout is larger than other cases, large enough that it reaches the curve of the back of the phone. So without a pic, I can't believe the cutout is that bad.

Are the sides real loose? That seems to be the problem with all the clear cases I have tried. Way too loose on the sides.

Yes the sides are loose however I never really notice it and it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would at all. All of these thinner cases have this issue and it's unavoidable.

Here's the pic. CS is currently working on a replacement

It appears that the McDodo case flirts with nakedness.

Ports are covered. But no lay on table and with a camera lens winding up flush with the case; not all table surfaces are flat and without irregularity. Windup is that you've got some grip and the phone looks nice, but at the expense of possible scratches and dust intervention from the edges (but none in the ports because, hey, they're plugged.)

Wow that sure looks like a one off quality control issue there. Mine is perfect. Glad they are gonna issue you another one!

Yeah, love the case overall and don't really mind small imperfections. But that's too big to overlook. Hopefully they send another one out soon

Ok, it seems as though McDodo thinks that the crappy cutout is "normal" and that it's suppose to make the case fit better? Either way their CS leaves a lot to be desired. Last case I'll get from this company.

That's a big discrepancy compared to the OPS pic of the camera cutout, which clearly shows room around the camera lens.

Too bad their CS is unresponsive. That's not a good thing, if they want to build a loyal base of users.

Definitely strange and seems a one off issue. It appears they just entered the U.S. market from Asia and my case shipped from California. So I don't know if they have a local customer service or something overseas. I would keep hounding them if I were you. Maybe ask your card company for a chargeback.

They sent another reply stating that its normal, and that some how its suppose to allow the owner to remove and put on the case more easily(no idea how they came up with that reasoning). Anyways, just wanted to give you guys who bought this case and got a crappy cutout or some other malformation a heads up that their CS wouldn't do anything about it, and will just give you some BS excuse and hope u go away. I'm just gonna get a charge back and move on.

Edit: just posted a pic to compare with the OP's case

s54, that sucks! That is a bullcrap reply from them, if it was normal then why is dictor's camera cutout completely different. I like the simplicity of this case, and the port covers, but thumbs down on a company that won't replace a faulty product, especially something as minor as a case. The problem here isn't a major one, but it would still annoy me if my camera cutout was aligned that way AND rubbing against the camera, as you say.

Of course, not normal. Terrible service and a good way to lose business.

The shame is, OPS review was very positive.

I have the MCDODO case as well. I purchased it after the 50% off coupon was posted here.

I also HAD the Anker case. I returned the Anker because it was too loose all over.

I like the MCDODO better than the Anker. The MCDODO fits better and is not as flimsy as the Anker case.

The MCDODO case camera cutout while janky isn't as bad as the camera cutout on the Anker case. The Anker case was really loose and sagged in the back starting at the camera cutout.

Port plugs aren't a selling point for me so this distinction between the cases where this is concerned didn't play a role in my preference of the MCDODO case over the Anker case.

I'm happy with the MCDODO purchase. I'll be looking to purchase more cases from them.

Wow, crazy that McDodo came in here and offered a replacement! Good company! TPU cases arent my thing, especially ones that offer barely ANY protection, but it looks like a decent basic case and since it's clear it nicely shows off the phone.
