iPad Me and my cat review the iPad Air after a desperate race to the Apple Store.

So I preordered the iPad through Verizon (big mistake) and after cancelling that debacle, raced a couple of hours up the road to the nearest city to buy one.

And then decided to make a fun video of the unboxing (warning: there are some f-bombs and offensive language in the video...)

I guess it's more that than a review, but I was definitely stoked to get the thing. I've only owned the iPad 1 in the past, and this is such an upgrade it's silly. The screen is finally amazing enough to read magazines on, and I've actually subscribed to a few (the original iPad was painfully close to being readable, but didn't quite make the mark).

I'm especially enjoying buying the Kingdom Rush games again in HD too and restarting them (only mild sarcasm there, honest...). :cool:

The wireless keyboard working so well along with a dearth of new apps designed for aspiring manuscript and screenplay writers means this just became a portable work machine as well.

Honestly if I could just play roms on it I don't think I would need a traditional laptop anymore... maybe I'll have to explore the world of jailbreaking one day.

Thanks lulla, I appreciate you giving it a watch.

My Adobe After Effects skills are slowly getting better, and I like to make things like this to practice and learn new stuff.

When I first started I couldn't do any more than take a continuous webcam shot, but once you get through all of Adobe's cryptic ******** and learn how to work their program, it's actually really powerful and neat.
 
I also really enjoyed this haha. :)

Makes me want to finally pull the trigger on an Apple BT keyboard too...
 
You have an awesome cat; the interludes with your cat were a nice addition.

Were you at Penn Square Mall? It looked like it from the quick pan over of the directory.
 
Loved the video...I've seen other Air un boxing videos before but this was the most entertaining...

I take it for granted (living in Los Angeles) the fact that there are so many Apple stores around me

Just out of curiosity why didn't you just order from Apple after canceling from Verizon? Aren't shipping times <24 hours?

Thanks Aetherhole & jason2811: my cat was a reluctant star, but I think he secretly enjoyed the experience.

Krazy Bill, braddick, & Jasmynsway: I was actually a little worried it might not work well, but I know that it was a must have feature for me. Now I can write whenever the mood strikes me.

luckylisp & eastercat: I love my cat; I've had him for like 5 years, and I swear he's uncannily smart for a cat. He even does a few tricks! And yeah, that was Penn Square Mall - OKC has a few really nice places.

Tork - I can assure you that the Apple keyboard is def worth the extra $60 bucks.

ApplePhy: Hey, I'm actually gonna do a "Discovering LA" video in a couple of weeks; where should I go and what would make something fun for a video? And I considered ordering from Apple.... but nah. Driving there was so much more entertaining.

I'm from Oklahoma too,live in Stillwater,but grew up in OKC,been to Penn Square a few times.
I too ordered online through the Apple Store,then found out later in the day that Best Buy here in Stillwater had them in stock so I cancelled and went and picked one up there:eek:

5 hours round trip? Couldn't you just have it shipped overnight from apple?

Agreed. Why people ruin these videos with vulgarity is beyond me. Did you report it?

Although vulgarity is considered "adult language," it is, in actuality, very very childish.
