My father went to the Apple store to get his iphone fix and in the process they "sold" him on Mobile Me and gave him a great deal. They gave him a "single" use for him and then sold him a family edition for $99 and he gave that to me. I really don't know a thing about it. Here is our set up...I have a Macbook Pro and iphone; My daughter has a Macbook Pro and Iphone as well, but is out of the house in college; My wife has a ibook and itouch. We also have g5 imac we use basically as the "print server" and occasionally surf on it as well. We all have bellsouth.net emails and my daughter also has a college and gmail account.

Basically how do I set these up the best way and each of us use it? Since we have established emails does going to me.com email make any sense? It was hard enough when we changed from comcast.net to bellsouth.net as far as letting all our contacts and services know.

Sorry to be so broad in my question, I just want to know the best way to go around it before I try to explain to the family how to use it. Otherwise I will be getting a ton of "technical support" calls.

Set up each machine with a seperate profile assosiating that persons device and computer with eachother. Go into your sys prefs and tick what you want to sync get the wife and daughter to do the same on there machines. Bobs your uncle it's as easy as that.

Thanks! Is it worth using the @me email accounts? I just worry trying to get them to have to change their address with everything.

As far as setting up, do you have to download something? I have the box with the code on it, but no software.

Thanks again for all the help and sorry if the questions seem "stupid"...

Most macs have it installed already as it was an optional update along side iTunes months ago. Check your systems prefrences for the mm icon if it's there click new user and follow the instructions.
Yes it's worth having the @me as it is an imap account and very good when used with your iPhone added to the fact it's simple to add to any mac you buy just by adding your username and password. You can set up mail so it sends from your me account when you respond to emails from your other account so people get it or add a signature to the bottom of all emails about the change of account.

People have good and bad things to say about mm. I'm in the possitive camp as I've never had an issue with it and it works flawlessly. The added bonuses of auto contact sync and bookmarks etc makes life more simple.

Thanks for the help. I assume since we have a family edition, each of us will have seperate "accounts", so we all don't carry around the same contacts?

Thanks again for the answers and Patience! The one feature I really look forward to is the idisk. With my daughter being 6 hours away, will make it much easier to share larger files with her.
