As Apple is busy dumbing down Aperture (and even iPhotos) to create feature-starved Photos, the boys at MS seem to be working in exactly the opposite direction. Arghhhhhhhhhh!!!

The shame, the shame....

Wow that does look cool.

I will say when it comes to image processing, MicroSoft is not on the tip of my tongue. I'm not sure where this app stands, i.e., proof of concept or an actual direction MS is heading in. I may download it and play with it though.

People realise Apple said that Photos will take advantage of 3rd party plugins right?

Why is everyone slitting their wrists over a Beta product? Its embarrassing.

I think people just see the handwriting on the wall. iWork, FCP, Aperture, etc... Does not inspire confidence

If Apple were to have released that same commercial, we would be reading about how they were 'dumbing down' panoramas and that it was only for soccer moms trying to get the whole team into a shot rather than taking a couple of steps back.

Someone would make a joke about how one 'soccer mom' did that and stepped in front of a bus and that apple would be marketing it as a safety feature.
