Does anyone have experience with the Upnp app Media Cloud on the ATV? I installed SSH and a number of apps on my ATV and everything works great with the exception of Media Cloud.

Here's what I have: A G5 on the network with EyeConnect running. It sees my ATV, but lists it as Unknown device. Media Cloud on my ATV opens, and gives two options: Media Servers and About. The about link provides the URL for the developer, but there's not much info there. The Media Servers option links through to a screen with a big Apple TV on the left, and a small icon of flames and the word "ROOT" which is not clickable. I have confirmed proper installation through SSH and have rebooted both Mac and ATV. Not sure what else to do other than turning off the stealth mode on the Mac.

TIA.

it doesn't look like you got help with your query ... but ... did you work out the problem?

thanks,

Sort of, then no

thanks,

Well, I turned off stealth mode, and then I was able to see a "MUSIC" folder on the ATV, in Media Cloud. Also an "Unknown Device" was listed in EyeConnect. That was earlier this week, and now it does not show up in either place and I don't know what's different. Still trying to figure it all out.

If I make any head way I'll post it here.

OK thanks,
i'm trying to work out how to get my ps3 and aTV working together without using iTunes from a WD MyBook WE NAS -all hacked of course.
mediacloud seems to be the answer so i look forward to any of your discoveries

Media Cloud is working

Well, I successfully got Media Cloud and EyeConnect to work together. I had to turn off EyeConnect on the mac, and delete some shared volumes- I didn't need music and photos, ATV already does that out of the box. I shared just a movie folder, which has some iMovie MOV files and what not, and there it is on the ATV. The files work flawlessly.

Next step is getting file access through Nito TV!
