Media keys periodically not working with iTunes 12.7

Does anyone else experience this?

I have iTunes playing music in the background, and periodically my media keys om the keyboard won't work. (Play/Pause and Next and previous). If I click iTunes they start working again.

I am experiencing the problem on both my home and work Mac. (A 2014 MacBook Pro 15", and a 2015 iMac 27" 5K)
One Mac on Sierra, the other on High Sierra.

Yeah, its really annoying. Its because now it works with videos in safari too, and I guess all apps?

So glitchy, mostly doesnt work for me, and when I have a bluetooth device that arent AirPods connected, and hit play or pause on it, it wont work.

Intermittently breaking for me on HS. Something to do with video in browsers or DVD player confusing it. How is Mojave for this?

The media keys try to control all media apps on the Mac. So when other media has been playing on the Mac, the keys won't always default back to iTunes, causing this problem.

In short, the problem is still there in Mojave.

This is a MAJOR bug. How is it that Apple is so negligent, what to do?
