How cool would it be for someone to port a VLC - like media player to the iPhone? No more converting .avi files or .flac files.

Is there something like this out there/in the works?

Any input/ideas?

Why would you need a media player, when you can transfer your video to iTunes (iTunes converts to correct format) and then upload.

Good idea though, but I see no point.

Should this automatically happen?

I sometimes drag some video files which simply bounce back from where I have dragged them from. Surely this means that iTunes is refusing to convert the files?

ANy suggestions?

Thanks

iTunes automatically converts divx and xvid files to MP4?

Most of the files I have been trying have been avi and they simply won't import however by opening it in quicktime I was able to sucessfully "export to iphone"

Im sure its something I will be able to figure out!
