Media storage, editing & backup on the ATV HD

Hey all,

Can I store all of my photos in the AppleTV, edit them in iPhoto on my MBA and then back them up to my Time Capsule? In other words, use it as a NAS?

I've been told you can copy things to the ATV but you can't copy it back to something else. It's a one way transfer.

No. That is what the Airport Extreme Base Station (with an external USB HD attached) and the new Time Capsule are specifically designed for, however.
