MP 1,1-5,1 Memory for 5,1 upgraded 2009 quad core

Hey all... I have 2009 MP 5,1 Quad upgraded 3.46ghz cpu and RX580 gpu, wifi and BT card. Memory is next... am I correct that although I can put HIGHER men speeds than 1333 EEC DDR3 in this thing.... the boards will only see and run at 1333?? don't want to spend the extra $$ if it's a waste. I'm going to put 3 x 8 megs in it. Thanks for any info.

You are correct the chips are limited to that maximum speed.

Thanks so much!!! so pleased with this upgrade project.... Mojave running beautifully and I'll leave it at that. It does all i need for now. NVME2 next... already got the card and heatsink..... then a new monitor one of these days.
