I just recently purchased a 512MB memory chip off eBay mistaken it for one I could use in my Dual G4 Tower.

Apple Part #M9683G/A
Also for some reason though Apple Store says it's PC2100 DDR266 the chip says PC2700 DDR333....

Well I know it won't work in my G4, but can I use it in my 2001 G3 iBook Dual USB?

Thanks for any and all input.

is it a SODIMM or regular DIMM? You're not going to be able to put that in your G3 iBook as far as I know. I used Owc to purchase the RAM for my iBook. You can use the site below to find the correct RAM.

It is a SO-DIMM chip. Yea this came as a big bummer for me being I was excited to finally get it today.

Thanks for the info.

That's DDR RAM and it won't work in your iBook since it uses PC133 SDRAM.

PC133 is a little more expensive too which sucks I admit.

However if you had a G4 iBook, which uses PC2100, it would still take the PC2700, but simply slow it down. That's what I recall anyway.
