Ok,

I have a sony digital camera and I'm looking into buying a larger card for it. Currently I can find a Memory stick pro duo card for about 10 bucks cheaper (for a 1 GB the difference is 48 and 38). My camera holds Memory stick pro, not duo, but the duo card comes with an adaptor that sizes it out to a non-duo card.

Now the real question, would i see a performance difference using the adaptor? Because if I'm not going to, I see no need to pay the extra money for the non-duo card.

According to this Wikipedia article, it shouldn't make a difference. The Duo is the same thing, in a smaller form factor, it's only the Pro series that are faster.

In any case, because of the adaptor you'll be limited to Memory Stick speeds, which would be the bottleneck in your situation.
