Hello,

How can I test my memory to check if it's bad?

Thanks but can I boot with a usb disk and memtest?

Thanks

Installed applejack and run it from recovery console.

You can run Rember in OSX.

Rember is not using all the memory for testing.

Also it displayed an error I will post it later. But I am wondering if mem86test is ok why Rember displayed an error?

That is very interesting because Rember is supposedly just a GUI interface for memtest.

I think it's an older version of memtest under Rember.

I will post the error later, very strange.

Do you think is bad memory or a problem with 1866Mhz ???

I will test again the default 4GB with Rember

When I run Rember on 1866MHz it does not return any errors.

Ok thanks I will some more test and I think I will return the memory.

^^ Did you end up returning it then? I'm getting similar errors with my 8GB Corsair RAM (Macbook Pro), so I guess it's faulty?

Hello,

How can I test my memory to check if it's bad?

Ok, this how bad off I am. When I read your post, I thought you were referring to a memory test to evaluate memory loss in relation to Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.

I was reading the thread to see if I could down load a test to use on myself! :p

It was only when I saw GGJstudio's avatar that I realized my mindless error.

Time to lie down, I think... :D

Yes I have returned it and I am thinking to buy 16 GB @ 1333Mhz instead.

I was getting random errors with any test I run and system crashed several times when I used almost the whole memory.

I will test again the default 4GB with Rember

it is not the ram I just ran the same ram test on a 2011 mac mini with 2 sticks of 4gb ram got the same results the ram was gskill 1333. something else is up. I think apple's efi firmware may have caused both remember and memtest to run bad. I have a house full of mini's and ram I will do a lot of testing on this.

In my case the tests never showed any errors with the default memory that was installed in mac mini.

I tested six sets of ram today including the oem samsung. all failed with the exact same error yours did.. I then thought maybe the mini is bad, but when I lifted it up it was really warm. so I download free istat widget and low and behold the fan was at 0. I opened the mini and looked at the fan plus and it was ever so slightly popped up.

I pushed it down and all six sets of ram passed. I figure it was not fully snapped in at the factory the contact was intermittent this was cause of the bad ram tests. Since I mod and sell on ebay 2 to 4 minis a week this is the third one out of 50 plus with the loose fan. The other two the plug was really loose and easy to see. I am glad I test the minis before sending them out.
