Im thinking to upgrade my new 27'' 2011 imac (cuz the price to upgrade the ram is insane, so I just upgraded the CPU and the graphic card).

Now there seems just 3 brands of memories that I can choose from ? Other World, Nuram, and Samsung(which is factory original).

So for 16gb (4x4gb), Other world costs me about $ 207 US, and Samsung Costs me $267 US without TAX and import duty fee.

Dont know the reputation of these 2 brands for making RAMs.

Is there any suggestions, feedbacks from you guys about these 2 brands ?

any haters around?

OW has a good rep on this forum.

I'm not familiar with Nuram at all, so I can't speak to them.

Samsung is reputable, but I've not first hand experience. But generally, each company will rebrand from another. Some will say it doesn't matter and just go for the best deal.

I bought Corsair 4GB kits. Upgraded to 16GB for about $148 US from Newegg.

Skip the full 16 gigs, go with 8. Its half the money for 12 gigs -- a better deal.

+1 ^^^^

And then when 8GB modules become affordable, you can replace the original 2x2GB modules with 2x8GB, for a total of 24GBs. (If you really need it.)
