Hi!

I'm not 100% sure but I think it started happening after updating to 10.12.5. The bug is that if I close or quit System Preferences then the upper menu bar disappears. To get it to show again I have to click/tap on the desktop once.

Anybody else having this? Is it a common issue? Any fix?

I'm using Macbook Pro mid-2012 btw.

Thanks!

Create a new user account, reboot and login to the new user account. Does the issue happen in the new user account?

com.apple.systemuiserver.plist controls some Menu settings. (ui = user interface)

Try deleting that from your user Library/Preferences folder and restart. If no luck, the above suggestion is a higher level tactic if it works, as it might make switching to a new account the best option.
