In dark mode my menu bar is bright white where as the tool bar is transparent. I dont remember it looking like this before the update. Looks goofy to me now. How can i make it transparent? Thank you for the help this is my first macbook and im not super knowledgeable on specific settings.

Its because of your wallpaper

Apple changed the transparency of the menubar to match the wallpaper selection

If you want a dark menubar, open up your wallpaper in an image editor and add a black line of 24 pixels long across the top of the picture.

Thanks for this. The new menubar behavior is a little annoying for me, as I like a very dark background ("Stone", they're calling it now), but I prefer a light menubar. I ended up making a Stone background (#424242) and a light menubar (#CCCCCC) and it's perfect!
